Oklahoma House District 31 Representative Jason Murphey has endorsed Marven Goodman in his race for Logan County Commissioner against the incumbent Mark Sharpton.
Rep. Murphey issued the following statement:
“In the past 3 years the State Auditor has made numerous findings of deficiencies in Logan County government. Marven Goodman is the most qualified candidate to straighten out the Logan County budget nightmare and transition Logan County government to a new era where professional standards and budgeting techniques are following and waste is eliminated.
His promise to refuse the thousands of dollars in allowance, expense claims and expensive travel junkets speaks to the fact that his heart is in the right place. This money will be much better spent improving roads instead of padding the paychecks of local politicians.
On June 24, I will vote for Marven Goodman and I hope you will consider doing so as well.”
Mark Sharpton has served as Logan County Commissioner for 12 years. And in those 12 years he has created a budget catastrophe.
This race is not about whether or not Sharpton is a nice guy, I’m sure he is. This race is not about whether or not Sharpton is a friend of yours.
This race is about who possesses the fiscally conservative values that will straighten out the county budget mess that Sharpton has created and restore fiscal sanity to Logan County government.
Citizens of Logan County: Vote for Marven Goodman on June 24!
