1982 comedy action film directed by Walter Hill about a cop (Nolte) and a convict (Eddie Murphy) that team up to catch a cop-killer.

Blue Chips
1994 sports drama directed by William Friedkin about a college basketball coach, played by Nolte. Its cast also included J.T. Walsh, Ed O’Neill, Shaquille O’Neal, and Penny Hardaway. There were also cameos by Dick Vitale, Larry Bird, and Bobby Knight.

Mother Night
1996 drama directed by Keith Gordon. It is based on a Kurt Vonnegut novel by the same name about an American living in WWII-era Germany that becomes a spy for the US government. The spy, Howard Campbell Jr, is played by Nick Nolte. Also in this film were Sheryl Lee, Alan Arkin and John Goodman.

Hotel Rwanda
2004 Terry George-directed historical drama film. Based on the events of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, it stars Don Cheadle as hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina. Nick plays Colonel Oliver, who is actually a fictional character based on real-life UN commander Romeo Dallaire.
