Special Election for US Senate in Oklahoma

With Senator Coburn’s announcement that he will be resigning from the U.S. Senate after this session, people have been crawling out of the woodwork announcing their intention to fill his vacancy.

Out of the list of potential candidates, who would you vote to get the Republican nomination for his seat?

James Lankford?
He was the first to announce. He is currently the U.S. Representative for the 5th Congressional District.

T.W. Shannon
Mr. Shannon is currently the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He is a state representative from the Lawton area.

Randy Brogdon
He has not officially announced his candidacy but he is a big name in this race. Randy is a former state senator and former mayor of Owasso. He ran against Governor Mary Fallin in the 2010 Republican primary for that position and is currently running for the nomination again in 2014. Word is that he is thinking of changing his mind and running for this seat instead.

Eric McCray
Eric is a heating and air contractor from Oklahoma City. He has no political experience (which obviously is not a bad thing) but has a Masters in Business Administration. He is running because he is not satisfied with the field of candidates for this seat.

Jason Weger
Jason is a paramedic from Norman. He is 31 years old and is the only openly gay Republican candidate.
