Album of the Moment: Devour

I’ve been anticipating the release of this album for a few months now. I actually just started listening to Mr. Hause this year thanks to the recommendation of my friend Dave.

Devour, which was released this past Tuesday, October 8 on Rise Records, is a great album full of songs that speak to one’s soul. It seems to be a very personal album for Dave, who, by the way, previously was a member of the punk band The Loved Ones. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Highlights on the album include the opening track “Damascus” as well as “The Great Depression,” “We Could Be Kings” (probably the best song on the album), “Autism Vaccine Blues”, and “Becoming Secular.”

Dave over at Oklahoma Lefty recently wrote a good review of this album on his website.

“…the record…does not disappoint at all. Devour is easily…the best record of 2013….Devour deals with issues of frustration, disappointment, and disillusionment with the American Dream….”
