Opposed to it. Very pro-life.
Supports gun rights. Believes in the right of the individuals to own and keep firearms and opposes any efforts to control that right.
Favors (and even co-sponsors) the Fair Tax Act.
Does not believe the federal government should be involved in education. Has not said point blank (that I know of) but seems pretty keen on dismantling the U.S. Department of Education. Believes that any federal funds for education should be limited to supporting the students rather than government bureaucrats.
Believes in securing our borders and enforcing existing immigration laws.
Opposes amnesty for any illegal immigrants.
Supports term limits. As a Congressman, he pledged to serve no more than 3 terms and kept that promise.
Has pledged to serve no more than 2 terms as a Senator.
Believes that elected officials should be citizen legislators and not career politicians.
Believes that judges have overstepped their role in legislating from the bench because they are, in essence, accountable to no one.
He will not support any nominee who has a tendency to legislate from the bench.
